I saw the rabbit masks on the cover and rolled my eyes too, thinking I'd give Tonogai's third series a pass...but I'll check it out after it finishes. Thanks for the review!

Is it really any good? Not that I'm doubting the review but Doubt was a struggle at the best of times and I gave up with Judge around 2 volumes in as it was bad... Very bad. I might pick up the first couple of volumes, further down the line, to see what direction its heading in then see if I continue.

... Well then, I'll pick up all 3 volumes, see what direction it heads down then write my own mini review in the Manga section Laughing

So far I'd say that even if you didn't like his other series, this one is worth at least checking out. He's not up to the usual, so it feels less like a Tonogai manga. So far, anyway - I'm personally leery of the rabbit mask.

As context, I'd have dropped Judge a couple of volumes ago; I'm still reading it because my sister buys it and the books are already in the house. Confused

^^^ Unless a connection was established later on in Judge there was no connection between the two stories early on.

I could understand giving someone the opportunity to "come clean" as it were if the transgression were being a tattletale or stealing stationery. But why would anyone in their right mind confront a murderer and then say they are going to turn their back and count to ten to give said murderer a chance to confess to the police. Isn't that just begging for a knife in the back? Real psychiatrists would not hesitate to turn someone over to the police that they suspect of having committed murder. You don't mess around with that kind of thing and no one is honor bound or professionally bound to keep confidence. Murderers do not get ethical or legal special consideration in a law abiding society. The whole premise for this story collapses under the weight of being ridiculous. A bad premise can't lead anywhere but to a bad story.

gridsleep: You're assuming that the psychiatrist actually does have conclusive evidence against the three murderers.

I've been kind of interested in reading Creepy Rabbit Head Guy's books. I like a good gimmick, but there's a lot of trapped-people-and-a-killer, social murder game type media coming out of Japan. If Secret is the best of his, and only three volumes, I might just start and end with this series.

Also on the fence about this one. I liked Doubt, even if the ending was kinda meh, but I got bored with Judge halfway in. However, your review kinda makes me want to give this a try.
