Apple didn't give me a refund... They said I went past the refund deadline or something. Eh, I'll just still hold onto it for the chance of a patch being released.

Just stunning that Square Enix would let this happen, seemingly without concern for the degree to which it will tarnish the company's image in mobile going forward. Who's going to buy a $20 iPad game if they fear — rightly, it would seem — that it's one iOS update away from oblivion?

This sounds reasonable. If there were unexpected issues, and they turned out to be more problematic than anyone thought, better to pull it off the store for the moment than let people buy a buggy version, unaware of the problems, then complain and let negative word of mouth spread.

I feel totally disrespected by Square Enix. I bought the game originally thinking I would be able to play it on Ipad and Iphone. Shock to me when i found out there were 2 separate versions, one for each respective device.
Now this. I cant even play the game on the one device I have access to it on.
Never buying another Square Enix mobile game.

What makes it unreasonable is the fact that it was broken by iOS 8, which was released in September, and betas of which were available to developers in June. They had plenty of time before iOS 8 came out to either fix the game or pull it… let alone doing nothing until now in the five months after the release of iOS 8.

Fans are often unjustly critical of game makers, but not this time, IMHO.

Hmm, maybe I'm used to seeing developers caught with their pants down when a new version of Apple software comes out, doing nothing until complaints come in and then rushing to try to fix the problems, if they can fix them at all. If they even do anything at all, which some don't.

Every time a new Mac OS comes out, for instance, I have to wait at least two months for a version of Gimp that doesn't crash immediately. Sometimes longer than that.

It's the sort of thing I've become used to.
