Honestly thank god. Now we might actually get some new Valkyrie Profile games out of them since Square Enix seems totally disinterested in doing anything not FF, Kingdom Hearts or DQ related.

More mobile games. Just what I don't want or need. I hope this mobile phone company doesn't restrict these devs to mobile. That'd almost be a crime.

Square owns the Valkyrie profile property I believe.

Also all they will be making is mobile games.

RIP tri ace, you were my favorite game company. Thanks for the good times.

Another one bites the dust. Oh well... so much for the Star Ocean franchise. It wasn't doing that great anyway. SO3 shitty twist was shit.

Yeah I remember hearing about this 2 days ago. Sad to see tri-ace goes, I guess no more Star Ocean in the future.

RIP Tri-Ace, another company I liked has died along with CAVE, Sega of America, and several others. This is why you need to support your favorite Eastern developers more than ever when games are released on consoles and handhelds because if you don't they go mobile and die.

FML. two of my favorite franchises most likely going to be ruined now. Capcom already killed Breath of Fire by making the next one mobile. I have no hope for my childhood RPGs

Honestly the way Square Enix is now it's just never going to happen. I consider Bravely Default getting made a bloody miracle considering again they just do not seem to care about any of their old properties anymore other than FF, DQ and KH.

I mean it probably was never going to happen, but no that's not excactly true.

Sqaure(well enix) owns the rights to Star Ocean and VP. They don't need Tri Ace. It could easily go the Drakengard 3 route where they farm the game out to a new studio while having some of the original members working on it.

Or they can still get Tri Ace. I believe another developer this Company owns actually makes that Lord of Vermilion arcade game for SE.

As much as I love tri-ace, they were pretty much just a studio being used to farm out other studio's projects like the FFXIII sequels and Level 5's Danball Senki ports in their final years. What was the last original game they made? Beyond the Labyrinth back in 2013? They made Judas Code last year, but that was a free-to-play game so perhaps this is the direction they were headed in for awhile.
