I don't know about anyone else but why would they announce this so late being that the last season was in 2013? Wouldn't they be better off premiering this like a couple months after the first season? Seems so off putting announcing this now.

The first season wrapped up in June 2014, so while there was still a pretty big gap it wasn't 2013 big.

I just hope this season doesn't get screwed over as bad as the first one did, with delays, repeats and a channel change after just 2-3 episodes. Xros is just kinda cursed.

Outside of the dubbed version, the first 2 seasons of Xros are pretty good, but the 3rd (final) season of Xros just hit rock bottom (except for 1 episode where all past heroes are together).

They're gonna fvck the dub up SO hard again it won't even be funny. They seem to like sticking to the 4kids formula by having stupid dialog, name changes, corny ass jokes/puns and censoring. It's making the whole series out to be a one-man comedy show and nobody is laughing. That's how this feels to me.

Hmm...I wonder how they covered up Mervamon. She had big boobs and all.

Digimon Adventure was somewhat censored too back in the day too. I get why you're complaining, I'd like a uncut digimon dub too, but even if it is a corny ass dub, I'm enjoying it for what is it.

CrunchyRoll has the entire series subbed on their site. So if I want to watch the subbed version I'll go to CrunchyRoll.

Kids' anime as a general rule has to be altered for an American audience to appeal to children in that country. It's nature of the beast. The people doing Digimon Fusion (Saban) basically know what they're doing, because why sell the toys if you want to sell anime to only teens and young adults? It doesn't make sense. Doraemon was altered the same way last year, and no one besides bitter purists complained.

Actually Doraemon is not a good example. While it did make many alterations for Western audiences it still kept the same spirit and humor of the original show.

A lot of children's anime that get brought over have varying degrees to how the content is altered. Despite some of Pokemon's changes it's pretty interchangeable with the Japanese version.

This season of Digimon, OTOH, seems to be regressing to the "Nimoy era" (late Adventure through early 02) dub where a LOT of unnecessary jokes are added and character personality traits are exaggerated which in turn make the show feel very different. A good example of a more balanced dub is the Tamers season which had some of these things but never to the extent where is hurt the watching experience and in many cases actually added to the humor where it was appropriate.

THIS. People keep saying that it's natural for Fusion's dub to be bad because its a kids anime, but...

Seasons 3 and 5 of Digimon were praised for the dub keeping the original feel of the show. Minimal edits, faithful script, not too much joke additions, and everyone kept their original character. Even the new OST was good.

You can't say that for Fusion season 1 at all. Hopefully season 2 improves.

Having not watched Xros Wars, I feel the dub does a pretty good job even though you can tell in some scenes that there was some editing or censoring done. But you have to admit, whether you like the dub or not, the theme song is damn catchy.

The last Digimon series i saw back then was season 1 and maybe a bit of season 2, but that's about it

I don't know how many digimon series there are at the moment, but will give the new series a try when it's out.

I guess as you got older the type of series that you are interested in will also change.

I do prefer a more mature story now a day. Series for Seinen readers/viewers

Sounds like anyone who disagrees with you would be considered a 'bitter purist'. Not sure why it's so hard to understand why people don't like seeing their favor shows censored, misrepresented, and ruined.

"It's okay because a lot of kids anime are censored" is not a good excuse, it just illuminates the overall problem, and why we have to hope children's anime gets put on adult swim to escape being censored.
