Very cool. I hope these movies continue to show the experience of wanting to become idols in a more realistic way, as opposed to simply glamorizing it. I assume Crunchyroll will be able to stream them.

Hard to say since CR doesn't stream anime movies until maybe months to years after they are released.

I was referring to CR streaming them down the line, not the day or week they come out in Japan.

Although as I recall, the original Wake up, Girls! movie was an exception to that.

Very good point, but the original WUG! movie was basically a pilot for the series, which rolled out immediately afterwards.
Kind of bummed that nobody ever licensed WUG! for physical media here, and that the music isn't available on iTunes US (some singles are on iTunes Japan). FWIW, they have a greatest hits CD coming out in Japan this week.

The anime itself was pretty good as far as the idol subgenre goes, but sadly it suffered from multiple animation errors and a budget that didn't do the series any favors. I wonder if the director's fame also had anything to do with its reception.
I was personally surprised by it though and I even liked a couple of male characters (which are most of the times completely absent from these kind of stories).

Can't wait, but hopefully these movies are full feature length and not just an hour long. Hopefully the animation's upgraded too.
