My goodness. There are some big differences between MC and Famitsu this week. So Super Robo Taisen Vita and PS4 sold the exact same number of copies. What are the chances of that?

As I expected. This would be the last week PS4 stays at #1. March madness is now over.

That's a typo. The Vita version of SRW did 121k, with the PS3 one pushing 109k. Another typo can be seen with Theatrhythm Dragon Quest, which is listed as being on PS4 instead of 3DS.

The franchise still seems like it's going pretty damn strong despite a lot of chatter about the Z Saga being a disappointment. I'm a little worried about it's ability to continue itself though given the quality (and dearth) of good mecha series of late. I mean yeah you just had a lot of titles come out but a lot of them are kind of indistinguishable of late on account of the CGIfication of a lot of titles (It seems only Sunrise, Bones and I.G maintain any sort of 2D mecha artists anymore) and just a lack of emphasis and focus on the robots. I mean they clearly had trouble integrating even Suisei no Garagantia into this title cause lets be honest there's not a lot going on with Chamber weapons wise and it's pretty much the only real mech from that title until about the very end. I guess future options are as follows:

Cross Ange
Aldnoah.Zero
Gundam Age (They could put Age and Aldnoah together, they have pretty similar plotlines)
Buddy Complex
Guilty Crown (if they're really desperate, though the mechs are a clear afterthought)
Rinne no Lagrange (ugh)
Eureka Seven Ao (I've strangely never been a fan of how they've handled the KLF's in SRW [I'd swear Hollands unit has better performance than the Nirvash] and the story is utterly incomprehensible but it's there)
Star Driver (Shitty storyline but would work great for animations)
Valvrave (Almost felt designed at times for consideration for this game)
Captain Earth (See Star Driver)
Gundam Build Fighters (If they could find a way to get Virtual-On! in Alpha 3 they could pull this off too)
Majestic Prince
Break Blade (I actually think this could serve as a core story line focus)
Fafner
Knights of Sidonia (might be tricky to do but could get paired up with a Macross title)
Code Geass Akito The Exiled

Hmmmm..............

http://www.siliconera.com/2015/04/08/this-week-in-sales-xenoblade-chronicles-3d-isnt-really-feeling-it/

  • Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, which was released last week, finds itself in a similar position. Released exclusively for the New Nintendo 3DS—which has sold less than 1.8 million units in Japan thus far—the game is unable to reach the audience of 16 million that Nintendo have built up with their older 3DS models. And so, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D debuted with opening week sales of just 56,932 copies.

For reference, the original version of Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii sold 82,952 copies at launch. While that figure is far from impressive, the game continued to move units through word-of-mouth and went on to sell close to 200,000 copies in Japan by the end of 2013. Additionally, it was confirmed in a recent Iwata Asks interview that Xenoblade Chronicles ended up selling more in the West than it did in Japan, so it’s safe to assume that the game ended up doing “okay” globally, despite its uphill climb.
