Didn't Viz Media only release vol. 11 of Magi in April? Why 14?

Am I wrong?

I'd like to ask Season 3 when, but the fact is there isn't enough manga yet, I think, and it's hard to predict when we'll have enough given that the current arc has a very fuzzy structure. Anyway, I'm glad it's selling so great, it's really a unique manga as far as shonen fantasy goes.

Magi and Nanatsu no Taizai are two of my recent favorite manga/anime series. It stinks that both anime have caught up with their source materials too quickly so no new season from them in about another year or two. Sad

The answer to both is: A-1 Pictures. Aside from Fairy Tail, I can't recall a manga adaptation that they didn't rush through; notable examples would be Kuroshitsuji, Ao no Exorcist, the aforementioned Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, and Nanatsu no Taizai. The first two "burned" through material so quickly that they ended in an Anime Original way, despite having just enough material to leave those shows' endings closer to the manga, rather than the Crash & Burn that they ended up being.

It's too bad neither Nanatsu nor Magi went anime original at the end. Both of them stayed faithful to their manga. Nanatsu may have rushed it, but Magi did 50 episodes in about 180 chapters, which isn't awful. I thought the pacing worked well. There's now more than enough for a 3rd season, with the manga up to about chapter 260.

Also, Shigatsu was an anime that they did not rush while adapting the manga.

I dunno, though, because as far as completed story arcs the only one left unadapted is the spoiler[Alma Torran arc], from then on it's all been set-up for the current larger conflict without a real "arc" getting defined so far. I think they'll wait for the whole thing with (Major)spoiler[Alibaba, Judal and the Kou empire conflict] to settle down before making a new anime because otherwise they would have to make a whole season just about spoiler[Alma Torran] and (Major) spoiler[Gyokuen's defeat and Hakuryuu's fall into depravity]. They could do it, certainly, but it'd be harsh to have an entire season with spoiler[the main cast just sitting on the sidelines]

I imagine they could end the 3rd season almost exactly where the manga currently is. It would be a good stopping point.

Nope! You're not wrong. It was a typo on our part. It's been fixed.
