I liked the BGM.
Also, I laughed when Kurogane Shizuku's image was shown because it was right after spoiler[she performed a mouth-to-mouth kiss with her brother, Ikki] spoiler[(she initiated it by surprise after not seeing him for years, he didn't had time to dodge, or even see it coming)]. One can see spoiler[the trail of saliva] from her mouth.

This is honestly like one of my top three favorite ongoing mangas right now so naturally I'm basically having a heart attack from sheer excitement about this.

1. The actual school 2. Male/female leads 3. Weapons made from their "soul" 4. Male is different than the rest (AD he had a shield, this one because he just straight up sucks) 5. Female is complete opposite (AD she had her swords and was the class badass, this one female is supposed to be the class badass) 6. Female lead is a foreigner Considering that Absolute Duo didn't do much more than just establish this and from what I've heard about this one, it's feeling like a Yona Of The Dawn/Legend Of Arslan where it's basically a newer retelling of a story that was already told a season or two ago. Still gonna check it out (since I enjoyed AD) but it's story is gonna have to do something very original to avoid the comparison, especially since AD only just showed earlier this year. |

With all respect, it looks to me like you're setting yourself up to be disappointed here. You've already made all these "comparisons" to AD and then you go out of your way to say that unless Rakudai goes out of its way to be amazingly original, then you're going to be putting the two side-by-side in comparison. Really, does it matter that AD was shown earlier in the year? Why should that have any bearing on your opinion of another show, even if they have some similarities? People were harping about how Wixoss was just a rip-off of Madoka Magica in much the same way, which probably kept some from enjoying what was an otherwise enjoyable show. IMHO, you should go into Rakudai and judge it based on its own merits, for better or worse. If you watch it and constantly stack it up against another show - particularly one as polarizing as AD - you risk cheating yourself out of whatever enjoyment you might've gotten out of it. That's the mindset of a critic, not an anime fan. |

It is better than AD but still the same type of typical story that get an anime easily. I liked the manga when I started it last year and hoped for an anime since it is quite enjoyable. I hope they dont mess it up like ISUCA.
