...but they never released the third Corpse Party game for PSP.
And they really messed up the translation of Book of Shadows. I will never forget how I struggled to find meaning in something I later discovered to be pig latin, while comprehending the Japanese voice actors. There's just something wrong if you get the original but don't understand the translation. And that wasn't the only issue, but only the beginning of how I came to hate the guys translating Corpse Party. So... I'm not as excited as I should for this. |

 I think most of us have been sitting around going "Geez, when are they gonna announce it?". It was the main reason I got a Vita last Christmas, in anticipation of this.
Whoa, okay, that limited edition physical release does surprise me, they got me there.
Third game? I'm assuming you mean 2U? That is a spin-off and is really not what I'd call canon as far as the general Corpse Party storyline goes. Some might also sort of argue that with Book of Shadows since the majority of it was alternate-timeline takes on things that happened, but at least the final chapter in it was a direct continuation of the original game. It'd be nice if they decide to release 2U eventually, but I don't really think it's essential to the series. |

I know 2U, since I've played it. In Japanese. Most of it is voiced, so I had little difficulty understanding what was going on. The choices also had enough Kana in them for me to figure out what I was doing. And it felt canon enough to me. It's a little on the ridiculous side and goes for comedy, but that's okay. Horror has more of an impact anyway if it's unexpected...
It's probably my favorite game from the three, but I haven't had a chance to play Blood Drive, since I don't own a Vita and probably won't in the foreseeable future. (If they fix the issue with the proprietary memo cards that might change, though.) Then again, it's also that I don't want to buy a system for just one game and other Vita titles couldn't interest me up till now. |

Not sure about the other chapters but the last one is canon plays important role in Blood Drive. |

What you're describing is Book of Shadows. What Koneko is talking about is Hysteric Birthday 2U. |

2U does have an important Extra Chapter that will factor to someone (a backstory) in Blood Drive. This isn't the Blood Drive prologue of Book of Shadows, but something else.
spoiler[Also, 2U does play a good role to some things in Blood Drive. I know the feeling of disregarding it as a spin-off, but it's honestly more than that.] |
