One Piece lost to Natatsu no Taizai? Color me surprised, I know this will not last, but I thought only massive shows like AoT could manage such a feat.

btw, Naoshi KOMI is an author, not the name of a manga (which probably should be Nisekoi).

Well done Nanatsu no Taizai. Though it's not the first time a series had sold more in the first half of the year than One Piece (Attack on Titan did it last year). Lets see how it turns out in the end.

I think One Piece may get ahead by the end of the year as im expecting 2 more volumes from it that'll close the current arc.

Honestly, after nearly 18 years, I think Oda should just end One Piece. While I don't read or watch the series, when you have a series last that long or longer, it just drags and drags.

Probably because Toriko anime ended.

So, real question: does Seven Deadly Sins have the quality to match these sales?

I know that 's a pretty subjective question, so I guess what I'm really asking is if it does anything to elevate itself above most shows in its genre. The anime seemed to be one of the most generic, forgettable shonen shows I'd seen in years - does it eventually do more with its characters and setting?

No, it doesn't has the quality to match the sales. most of the sales are from old vols. Once all those people who want the old vols done buying, it will fall many spots next year.

Seven Deadly Sins didn't sell that well per vol.

This must be a sign for me to get back into Nanatsu no Taizai.

But the Bleach anime ended much earlier. March 2012.

Where is JoJo's?

Awesome news for AssClass. It really is a wonderful manga and show.

Glad to see Fairy Tail and Nisekoi doing well as well.

I do not read/watch One Piece, so I cannot compare those two, but after watching the anime and reading the manga I can tell it is a coherent action shounen, everything happens for a reason and yes, at the start they are pulling their punches but by the end of the anime the kiddy gloves are off. Also it scores point in my book because Diane is not just another pretty face, she can fight along the other sins, not behind.

Many pleasing numbers here. I hope this means we get more NanaTai anime soon, although I'll try to catch up to the manga. It's not doing anything new or unique, but it's still wildly entertaining, really interesting and has amazing characters. Also hope this gives Magi and Yowapeda more anime. Bleach is doing relatively bad compared to its heyday, but all things considered it's still sort of amazing that it still sells more than 1 mill vols in half a year.

What's truly amazing is that KuroBas manga ended in August, the last volume came out in December and it still managed to place 14 even with not a single new volume in this semester. Same for Parasyte. I guess one can't underestimate the power of an anime boost.

Somebody that actually knows what they are talking about. Nice.
