Cool news for people who haven't jumped onto current-gen consoles. Too bad it probably won't have the XV demo, I found Type-0 to be rather underwhelming, but the XV demo totally made it worth it.

Oh, yes. Just make a better port than with XIII and I'll buy it.
By the way, Lightning Returns was supposed to hit Steam during spring but it's still missing.

Yet another reason for me to not buy a console. Literally 90% of my games (that I care about/want to buy) are now coming to PC. FFXV coming to PC is really just inevitable at this point. Read somewhere awhile ago that footage shown at one point was running on PC anyway. This coming to PC really just further provides evidence that SE is seeing the huge potential in PC. YoshiP has mentioned a collab for FFXV and FFXIV. This would be even better when XV comes out on PC... Anyway, XV and Disgaea 5 (which is forever only gonna be on Sony) are the only games left on consoles for me.

Yeah, it's true, I'm running out of reasons to get a new console. Most of the JRPGs I care about are coming to PC eventually so why sink the money? I'll just keep upgrading my PC every couple years instead.

I can't think of a current-gen title that I'm interested in that isn't either on Steam or highly likely to come to it. Makes me wonder why I would bother with a console.
...with the exception of Nintendo titles, of course. Ironic how the Wii U is the poorest-selling system this generation and yet it's got by far the most guaranteed exclusives.

I have no means of settling into a single place, so having/building a PC that's good for gaming is kinda out of my limits. It's hard enough just bringing my Wii U and PS3 around. I do want a PS4, though, and I highly prefer using consoles to my laptop or a PC with a keyboard (controllers work, but it's a pain to get them to just... work like magic). that said, I'm actually kinda happy that a lot of my friends who own neither a PSP or a PS4 and love PC gaming will finally have a chance to play the game. It's one of the better Final Fantasy games for me by a long shot. I just love the atmosphere the game has.

Wouldn't upgrading a PC every couple of years be a considerably larger money sink than buying a console, though?

Ya just have to know how to shop for parts, and then sell the old parts. And PC have other uses too that benefit from gaming upgrades.

If you're a smart shopper, no. You can buy a $200 graphics card every 3 years and max out every game with amazing graphics. Consider that you can get games for half the console price, controllers for $20, and don't have to pay to play online and it's quickly obvious that PC is cheaper.
This goes without saying that most people need a computer for work or school as well. It just so happens that the investment in your computer will make that experience more pleasant as well.
Don't have to worry about loosing games when the next gen console comes out too. PCs can play very old games and backwards compatibility is rarely an issue. You can emulate older consoles, if you no longer have the systems.
