Mm, I guess I wouldn't mind it. It would of been interesting to see it to really show Dio's evil intentions but I think the recently animated episode got the point across.
I wonder if the BDs will include it. |

I'm almost positive that the scene was cut out simply because it's a TV series. Yes, JoJo TV airs in late-night, but if it can't even show Jotaro smoking a cigarette without blackening out his mouth, then there's absolutely no way that the show can get away with a car running over a massive amount of people in what's essentially a mass murder. Araki even including it in Shonen Jump back in the early 90s is kind of shocking, because I'm sure that no one could get away with that kind of scene in Jump now.
The OVA could get away with it because it was made for home video, therefore it had fewer restrictions. If anything, I expect it to be added in in some way for the home video release. |

I want to note that Jojo has re-aired on other networks during the evening hours, as opposed to late night, where essentially are presented in children and family safe hours. BS11 had a rebroadcast of the first season in the 7PM hour, before being replaced by Pac-man and the Ghostly Adventures. Plus for those who get Animax, the show airs at 8:30PM on the Weekend, which would be easily accessible to said audience. So access to the series for the younger demographic is entirely possible and despite the initial broadcasts being late night, they probably want to play it safe in case the younger demographic has access to these episodes. Given I heard Jojo has a high DVR rate, I would not be shocked if said audience is watching the show as it airs. I'm guessing the show is just "censored enough" so it would not cause a problem if someone was watching it. Reminder, Jojo was originally a Shonen Jump series and the target demographic for that range is pretty wide (ranging from older children to teenagers). Mind you, standards and practices have changed over the years and they're much stricter compared to years ago, but it doesn't change the fact who this show is targeting. Either way, I haven't seen or read the scene in question, so not sure how graphic it is, but it was definitely enough for them to cut it out. I am curious whether or not there will be an extended cut of this episode for DVD/BD, though, as it's pretty rare for them to do something like this, especially when a cut is finalized for a certain slot. Not unheard of, but I do hope it happens. |

I don't get this article. Anime adaptations change/omit parts of their respective manga all the time and these decisions are always accompanied by divided opinions online. Is the uproar in this one instance so big that it warrants a piece of news? Not complaining at all, mind you, it just strikes me as strange.

Omitting this scene and having other way more cruel scenes including the usually very controversial violence towards animals is a bit weird and i would like to see it in the final disc version as Parasyte got to keel such scenes (while skipping all the gore) but who cares in the end as we won´t get a better/more faithfully JoJo adaptation that this.

Look closer at the article and you'll notice that it's not marked as a "News" item but an Interest one. They're fairly recent on the site and they're not meant to be big hard-hitting or informative news. Just random bits of fun or interesting anime-related stories that ANN thinks readers will like. |

couple things.
First they didn't out right cut it they still left the implication which is could. it still allows DIO to come across as cruel and dominating without turning off people to the murder of innocent people (Not that JOJO doesn't do that all the time, people who have nothing to do with the main cast just get killed all the time) It may show up on the DVD And the guy who said "I really wanted to see it"...Dude that's kinda weird. I get that it's a cool scene in the Manga but clamoring for the visualization of dozens of innocent people getting mowed down by a car is kind weird. |

I hope that they'll include this scene on BD, but if they won't, it's fine with me as well. As for TV version - I honestly prefer it to be done this way, rather then having a black screen for a few seconds.

I was using the word ''news'' very loosely. I get the difference between Interest articles and the others just fine. It still seems a very commonplace thing to focus on, but I guess something needs to be written. |

The implications of Dio's evil goals are not entirely missing from the scene, but I can see this being an issue on TV. Although a lot worse stuff can appear on TV, sometimes direct maliciousness like Dio's can be too much of a risk for a broadcaster.
Perhaps a deleted scene for a home video release? |

That Akihabara killing a few years ago still appears to have sting.

A scene from the manga being omitted in the anime adaptation? What a surprise, this happens 99% of the time with all anime. Just proves how spoiled the "fans" are these days.

Not sure why you put fans in quotation marks, but the reason it's been notable is that this is a rather iconic scene and the TV adaptation of Stardust Crusaders has been a rather faithful panel-by-panel adaptation so far (with some character development filler added here and there). A lot of people were looking forward to seeing this scene animated again (and before someone says something, some people were looking forward to it because of one specific person who was run over, not because of the idea of people getting run over), so it's understandable they'd be upset when this is removed while something some people would've been fine with seeing left out like the chibi Polnareff bath scene during the Alessi arc was left intact. |

The only reason I would oppose this is because it denied us a Waldo cameo.
