Great to see them moving forward with more Kitaro. There appears to be someone in Japan who feels the series isn't getting enough awareness here so I wonder how they'll take this news?

I hope they're not overdoing it, 'cus Mizuki still sounds a bit niche to 'septuple' down on his stuff.

Zack Davisson, the translator behind the project, has confirmed on twitter than none of the previously published stories will be contained in these volumes.

Nice, so that should mean with these 7 vols. all original 9 will be available in English, since the first release covered about 2 volumes.

Zack mentioned that he hand-picked stories and for approval by Mizuki himself. So it sounds like it's not a strictly chronological release, and that it's possible that some of those original volumes will not be included. But I'm happy to get whatever I can, and with this much material, I couldn't be happier Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Excellent news. I keep looking at the one copy we have and I keep saying, "Well, that's all we're getting." Then this wonderful news comes out and we're getting some more books. So this is great news for us as we're still purchasing the other works by him.

Excellent! I've been loving Showa as well. I wonder if D&Q can find a market for any of Mizuki's yokai encyclopedias if these are successful.

Did you know that there are some Yokai Encyclopedia entries in D&Q's upcoming 25th Anniversary book?
