I recently purchased the anime and both Rebirth 1 & 2 during the Steam Sale last week.

The franchise quickly won me over and as an avid video game player the puns in the English dub are great, various analogies and references to games, gaming culture and features.

All in all I liked the anime, I laughed a lot and it was great to see all but two or three of the game cast return. Yes the first ending is a little cringe worthy but i disagree with you statement that the second is. i thought the second ending was more sweet and not meant to be viewed as fan service and more as a connection between the sisters.

The show does struggle with the serious bits you're right about that, the stuff with Eden and Peashy isn't even close to serious but I'll be honest I didn't see the true antagonist coming at the end of that plot line

Series is good and i think you ranked it a smidge to low (I would have gone more B-/B territory.)

cant be surprised on how the ending turns out. and if it did ended via fanservice it would have given all the haters the excuse to send this series into the perishable aisle. while its a good series to say the least, unfortunately its definitely a rental. probably would have better if they had made an anime version of Ar Tonlieco instead of neptunia. at least blazeblue is definitely entertaining.

This show was more fun than I expected it to be. Some of the names and and quick references are groan inducing, but I also like such things so I had no problems with that. It is interesting that Sega was considered the lead for this story given that Sega stopped making consoles years before the games were ever made, and it also makes the revelation of spoiler[Atari] as the big villain more curious. My guess would be that making Neptune the lead was a way to keep the story feeling console neutral.

David Vincent as Anonydeath by himself makes the dub an A+. The other performances (Erin Fitzgerald as Noire and Laura Post as Arfoire in particular) are just extra credit. I do have to agree that Wendee Lee wasn't really giving her all here as Blanc; she's much better in the games, though.

The Neptunia anime doesn't even attempt to reach for a wider audience. It's pretty exclusively for fans of the games. Because half the time you'll have no idea what stuff is and how other stuff happens.
