Now I wonder if we'll be seeing more Arnie-themed Japanese ads again. Cool Oh, and that Hino guy is mixing up his Terminator movies. Laughing

Arnold Schwarznegger and Robonyan...They seem to make a perfect duo in protecting the world against evil. Smile

Is it wrong that I'm more interested in the Yokai Watch premiere than in Terminator Genisys, and I've never even seen Yokai Watch?

(thinks)

....No. Come to think of it, IS anyone interested in Terminator Genisys? Confused

Oh, the Terminator franchise still has their fan base.

There is also that trope called "Germans Love David Hasselhoff" which, in one basic explanation, is that a story/idea/figure, etc. is more popular outside its' native countries.

Uh, yes. At the very least based on the first two trailers this film will at least not feel like the retread that 3 was or the pointlessness that 4 was (oh, it's the war......that we already know how it ends since the first movie!).

Whether it will be well-executed remains to be seen, but I'm not going to judge something I haven't seen yet.

Or the fan-w*nk that was 3, when the new producers seemed to be spanking Cameron and John Connor and literally sending them to their room for ending 2 happily, and not giving them the Cool War of Robots Shooting Each Other that everyone knew they were "supposed" to deliver.

Well, judging from the trailers, actually, we do know: Like the new desperate-reboot trend, they're using the Abrams Star Trek loophole--
"There's been a disruption in the time-space continuum, so history's changed, and if you remember anything from the first movie that's different from the crap we made up, YOU'RE the one who's wrong, not us!"
(Which is why Reese can come back to 1984 and find Sarah already acting like her grim T2 Soldier Of Fortune gun-toting Cameron-babe.)

Like the One Ring, the Terminator franchise keeps passing from the hand of one cheap franchise-buyer to the next, and destroying all who would possess it and dream of wielding its power. Razz
It used to be said that any unrelated-sequel franchise is like a passed-around game of hot-potato, until someone has to reboot it, and they lose. We've added the new rule now that whoever does the Star Trek "Faulty Memory" Retcon at the end, trying to re-jumpstart the canon bible, loses.

Shuwa-chan!? The fans must love him dearly. But I never thought that he would do a crossover with Yokai Watch, of all things.

You don't often see stuff like this. Arnold Schwarzenegger meeting a yokai robot. From what I've heard, old Arnold has a pretty good sense of humor so he's probably going to love it.
