It's amazing what they're doing with studying genetics these days. There's a project in Europe to map Lil BUB's genes, too, and even with the 1% they've already mapped, they've learned that the gene that caused her to be polydactyl is the exact same gene that was found in Ernest Hemmingway's cats, which means that she has to be related to them in some way.

By in commemoration of the project, do you mean it's a publicity stunt for their do it yourself DNA testing kit? It's not like those things are unusual. You'd think they'd be promoting it as a way to identify diseases you're genetically predisposed to rather than waffly crap about happiness genes & what not, but then Japan is into that weird blood heritage stuff so talking about inherited illnesses probably wouldn't go down so well.

I think Macoto-sensei looks more like his father whenever he's wearing his beret. Smile

I'm surprised that the son of the God of Manga hasn't decided to follow in his father's footsteps and became a big manga artist himself. It's possible that he decided to milk off all the royalties.

Testing for inhereted disease comes with rather important medical ramifications(also: each test tends to be expensive) This "waffly crap" is the sort of thing you can convince people to buy without needing them to be seriously concerned.
