i would be depressed if it weren't Nihei. This means a new series down the road, which means more Nihei lore, which means.. more godsauce

Alright. Possible the anime can adapt the whole thing when the time comes.

I'm doubting that...
Mostly we'll get in the future will probably be another movie (non-recap)

^ my thoughs too, as I said in the Battle for Planet Nine review thread. It just felt like they set it up perfectly for an OVA. Of course I'm assuming the anime was anywhere near the manga's current spot, because I haven't actually read it.

What really!?!

That sucks I thought it would go on for some time, I really liked the series.
Well thinking about it again there's only so much they can do with an enemy like the guana I guess if they let it drag on it'd become repetitive. What a shame I really liked tanikaze hopefully the author will work on a sequel or something to blame, it was a nice manga but shit got convulted near the end. I'd also love to see an anime of blame.

I haven't compared chapter by chapter, but I feel like there's already enough manga for another season, or close to it. Hard to tell as they may rearrange some events again for the sake of pacing and not splitting things up between seasons.

I don't know what exactly "headed towards its climax" means, but hopefully it'll last a few more volumes. There are already enough chapters for volume 15 to be compiled. I don't want them to drag it out just for the sake of it being longer, I just hope it's not rushed.

I appreciate how Nihei doesn't go for those multidecade long manga like some of his colleagues do. He tells his story and then moves on.

Yeah I do like long series myself, but as I said I don't want it to be padded for no real reason. As long as it has a proper conclusion I think I'll be satisfied.

I adored the first season of Knights of Sidonia, read the first 12 volumes or so, but haven't been able to watch the second season yet. I love the series and I'm sad that it's going to be ending rather soon, but it's nice that it won't go on for forever. That allows it to be a tighter series. I hope that eventually the whole thing gets adapted although it probably won't.

From what I read in other forums, there's enough material that the 2 shows didn't adapt yet to make at least another 1-cour season.

With all the skipping season 2 did, and the fact there's 2 arcs they can do after where they ended in season 2 I say there is plenty for another season. I feel like they can finish things up in 2 movies if they wanted to do that instead of another 12 episodes.

The manga has been heading into an end arc for awhile now, and it's really clear that we're hitting end game with the last few chapters.

I figured it the manga was coming to a end soon the only question is how many more volumes to finish it. They are up to 15 volumes and it feels like it could go another 4-5 more easily.

As for the Anime they changed a few minor things and some events are out of order but the second season covers about up to volumes 8-9.

So they could do another season but it all depends on how many more volumes it will take to end the series.

I've yet to see the 2nd season, but loved the first one. And, knowing that the series will be ending "soon", I may just end up buying the manga.

Honestly thought that this series would be one that dragged on forever, and happy that's not the case.

The anime covers the manga up to volume 9 and the manga is currently at volume 15. This means that there is largely enough material for a new season.

On the other hand, when you look at the anime, the end of the first season clearly hinted at a second season, while the last episode of the second season looks to me pretty much like a closure with spoiler[Nagate returning to the quarters he was raised and leaving the medal he was awarded with on the simulator where he was told how to fight Gaunas and images of the whole anime flashing back in his mind].

On one hand this ending doesn't invalidate the remaining chapters of the manga, but it reminds me of the ending of "Hikaru no Go" anime which ended at a very good point but completely left out the international tournament arc.
