The anime is some of the worst ever sold series in history.
There is no longer demand for lolicon. No wonder it's ending.

I really enjoyed this series when it first aired, it was a great amalgam of action, horror and romance, the relationships were charmingly macabre and the action scenes were very workmanlike.
I really hope Studio Gokumi announces that their working on season 2 this year or the next, they left it out for a season 2 that I wanted more of it. Who're the other two "custom-made" Authors? What's Kiri's family like and how will the main relationship turn out?

That loli stuff wasn't why it sold so poorly. Words on 2ch say that it was because most couldn't self insert as Kiri. He was decisive, a bad ass and told Iway how he felt about her at the half way point. Sales were never going to be great, but after the love confession in episode 6, most pre-orders were canceled. Yes, most otaku were intimidated by Kiri and thought that he sullied Iway by kissing her.

He did say "worst selling anime", not about the quality of the story in itself. For your information, it sold 295 copies.

Also, I forgot to mention that I really enjoyed the anime. Yeah, it was creepy and kind of gross sometimes... but it was SUPPOSED to be creepy and kind of gross. And I though the love story was decently done. Nothing groundbreaking, but decent.

So this didn't sell well because Kiri was a 'decent' teen and showed concern for Iwai?

I was wherever the translators left off at since I last checked for new chapters.. about ch30-ish?
It was definitely an odd manga, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It'd be lame if it got cancelled.

Yeah I can't help but think there was more at play here, though what DmonHiro said was probably a factor.

heck another show called accel world sold way way way more then this and that one also had a love confession and am sure you guys know what episode am talking about
