This Mai's name and the mentioned phantom battling has me think of Mai from Kanon, possibly 1 of KyoAni's most famous works.

Is she supposed to be the main character? Because I thought the main character in the LN was a boy?

The show still looks dull and the girl's design is not helping.

^Err, the only other Kyoani series she has been in is Chuunibyou. Anyway, don't know much about this story but I like Kyoani so I'll check it out.

What I'm still really curious is if it will be a TV anime adaptation. That's still unconfirmed and although I haven't read the LN yet, I know there's only around 1 volume. Although .....they could just add some additional content.

I'm guessing this will debut Winter at best or maybe in Spring. Hopefully we see an animated PV this Fall.

Good to see that KyōAni is still using their artistic style; it just nice to look at.
