They license a one-shot manga 7 years ago and still haven't released it yet? I would think the license has expired by now. If you ask them about it, they likely would give the standard BS answer that they can't comment on it yet.

Eh, that description doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy. I mean, why not a butler? Surely that'd be where I'd assume something like this would head, and can only assume that there must be something comedic attached to the fact that he is a maid instead.

And, looking at comments online, seems like those that have read the series say it is shounen-ai.

I wonder the same thing. It makes me think of crossdressing.

Wow, didn't know my comment come off like that at all.

Oh well, eye of the beholder etc.

I did question why a male isn't made a butler instead of a maid, but I guess that delving into why that choice was made is difficult. Much easier to go your route.

It was something that bothered me about Mayo Chiki, when I first heard about it. I mean, why would a woman be a butler? Then I found out, and enjoyed the series immensely. So much so that the manga adaption sits on my bookshelf.

I also collect So Cute It Hurts!, but...I clearly do have a problem with cross dressing. Must not be a fan of the troupe at all. Carry on.

A boy dressed up as a maid...This could make for some interesting reactions from the guests. Wink

Hmm. This is a case of "Strange Uncle". Why would the man suggests a maid outfit and why would Chihiro go with it???

@Ali07

Your post didn't come off like that. wohdin seems to be responding to something you didn't say.

@animechic420
I would assume he went with it because he was out of options. The uncle demanding it sounds more like a silly plot device than a perversion. We will have to wait and see.

Well, Japan does have cross-dressing maid cafes.

Going by the illustration with the article, it doesn't even involve cross dressing. He is wearing an apron and cap over his normal shorts outfit with tie.

I read some of the source manga before, and I can clarify there is nothing sexual or skeevy at all in it. It's a sweet, shoujo, slice-of-life comedy themed series.

IIRC the boy doesn't cross dress, not as far as I read. Unless you count a frilly apron and maid cap as girl's clothes.

Did you guys miss the part where it says an ELEMENTARY school kid is FORCED to dress up as a MAID for his UNCLE?

And not one comment that this is completely F'd up.

The part where he is not forced to do it, going by what manga readers claimed?
