So *this* is Jamie's big Sentai Filmworks debut? Kinda underwhelming, to be honest.

I personally had my money on her playing Esdeath, but oh well. Neutral

Jamie Marchi in a sentai dub, alot of Funimation regulars have been showing up there recently, oh and both Kira Vincent-Davis and Nancy Novotny are here as well which is nice considering they were part of the Elfen lied family and this series is from the same creator.

Also surprised to see Jamie Marchi in a Sentai dub. Can someone confirm if this is her first time working with Sentai?

we can add that to Tia Ballard being in little busters and Jad Saxton being in Log Horizon this seems to be becoming a trend with Sentai and Funi

Hard to tell. Her Goddamn credit list is HUGE!

Now that she's taken a Sentai role, I really do want her to play a part in Akame ga Kill. Either Chelsea or Esdeath.

Esdeath is already being played by Christine Auten.

Shocked ...I am happy with that decision.

You know it's funny, when I first started the manga I pegged Christine for Najenda and Stephanie Young for Esdeath. Whelp, works for me! Very Happy

Chuck Huber was also in Arcana Famiglia, Terri Doty has been in a few things and Ian Sinclair was in Hakkenden season 2 (though Arcana was directed by John Swasey so Huber appearing in more Sentai dubs probably isn't likely and Sinclair was just taking over a role plus Chris Ayres usually sticks to a select core of usual suspects)

It is her first

I'm sure there are some who are pleased; +1 to her resume of uncensored sexy characters.

Haven't seen the show myself yet but even if it's not that great the way I see it is it's a good first step to possibly more and "better" quality shows.

Probably unlikely but part of me hopes maybe she'll get cast as Moffle in Amagi Brilliant Park. (I'd like to hear her dub a character done by Ayako Kawasumi; one of my favorite seiyuu plus Marchi so rarely uses her actually pretty good boy voice)

This is her first time working at Sentai Filmworks, everything else has been for Funimation.

Also there have been other voice actors who work at Funimation, who worked on shows for Sentai
Terri Doty was in Muv Luv as well as voiced some minor roles in other shows.
Chuck Huber was in La Storia Della Arcana Famiglia.
Tia Ballard was in Little Busters and Log Horizon.
Jad Saxton was in Maid Sama, Log Horizon and Sunday Without God.
Ian Sinclair was in Hakkenden Season 2.
Brina Palencia was in the Appleseed Alpha movie (Sentai Filmworks director and most of the cast works for Sentai)
This has been a continuous trend since the days of ADV
Examples
Caitlin Glass was Kaori in Kanon
Colleen Clinkenbeard was Mishio in Kanon
Mike McFarland was in Diamond Daydreams
Laura Bailey was also in Diamond Daydreams

So in the future there would be more voice actors "exclusively" working at Funimation also being a part of Sentai Filmworks licensed dubs.

I feel that I've seen everything Blake Shepard is capable of as an actor over the years he's been cast in this type of role on countless occasions since 2010. While he isn't a bad actor whatsoever he's merely average a vast majority of time and his performances are simply only interesting for me personally when he shows his range off now days(Maguro Kurokami from the Medaka Box Abnormal dub being a good example of this) When he is playing the typical protagonist in a dub I just grow bored of seeing the same performance for the tenth time. Now if Chris Patton was cast as the lead I would at least know that the performance would have some presence in its veins even if the protagonist is terribly ordinary. I like Blake Shepard as an actor but he only tends to really shine in less typecast roles that allows him to adventure away into more unusual characters. I'm curious to know if Kyle Jones cast Kira Vincent-Davis, Nancy Novotny,Ty Mahany and Blake Shepard in this title because they were all previously cast in another Lynn Okamoto title Elfen Lied many years ago.(Blake replaced the original actor Adam Conlon as Kohta in the recent short OVA dub of Elfen Lied) I may be giving Kyle to much credit considering it could just be a mere coincidence at best. I'm not very fond of Clint Bickham and George Manley's script writing so hopefully they hired a more well balanced ADR writer to handle the dub's dialogue this time around. Its not an amazing cast but its competent and hopefully the dub will be consistent.

Have you seen him in Xam'd as Akiyuki? That series is 1 of my fave anime and one reason is that the ED was sung by a girl who grew up in Chandler AZ, part of the Phoenix Metro Area.

Honestly I stopped watching this show after episode 4, but I'll rewatch the dub if only for Jamie Marchi.

Yeah I've seen the series and the dub quite a few times over the years. I found Blake's performance in it to be fairly decent nothing about it really stood out to me in general.
