Oh, this quite pleases me! Baby & Me is an amazing series and it always needs more attention if you ask me! Glad at least Japan still remembers it fondly.

Also, Please Save My Earth is awesome too

This should remind people how diverse a category shoujo is.

Please Save My Earth would be my #1 choice, and then Fruits Basket.

With Rose of Versailles being brought over I wonder if there's hope for Glass Mask? Oh how I loved the 2005 anime.

Baby & Me was one of my favorite shojo manga in high school. So much so that for years I really wanted to read the author's other works but have given up since.

Mad Manga: No chance in hell of Glass Mask happening here, unless it's through digital purchases.

Sadly I'd have to agree... Glass Mask is very long with no real sign of ending (despite Miuchi-sensei's comment on how it was ending "soon"), the series and art are rather dated, and is also in a very small niche where it may not appeal to many in western markets. The only other people I could see picking it up - besides fans of the series to start with - are those that enjoyed Skip Beat! as the two do share the same niche of being about acting. But I'd expect Skip Beat! fans to be sorely disappointed with Glass Mask as other than the theme the two really don't have much in common.

I'm working on collecting the original Japanese volumes for my collection, even though I'd never be able to read them. I figure it's the only way I'd have a physical release for the series, as digital would likely be the only way we'd see the series in English and I'm a huge fan of collecting my favorite series. :p

It's good to see some old classics on that list. I've read pretty much all of them, and they all definitely deserve to be there. I just wish Viz would rescue Gakuen Alice already...

@ sunflower : Agreed~. Lately, I've been doing some searches of specific stuff in shoujo on Google (art style, scans, etc), and some of the top hits/results are things that are dismissive of shoujo, and it kind of pisses me off. (The same isn't reflective in shounen, what a coincidence, hmmm.) Shoujo is so overlooked and looked down, and rarely given a chance.

The list is kind of surprising. I almost feel disappointed that Baby & Me took the top spot, but I do remember being very fond of it myself, and I can see why. I'm glad Furuba took the fourth spot though, and that Gakuen Alice made the top ten (though I wish it were higher). I wonder if Hana to Yume held a reprint poll, if these same titles would take the spots they did.

I'm a little surprised that Glass Mask didn't rank higher too, but I suppose it's in a specific niche/place, by now.

Aww Baby and Me. I'm proud to own volumes of Baby and Me.
Nice results though. If Margaret made a poll, the results would be ehh....
