I love a good comedy of errors, and this series has consistently delivered.

As one of the few, recent shows/franchises in the [comedy] genre that actually made me laugh, I am most pleased that it retained its quirkiness and character dynamics so well.

I'm so glad Working!! is back. I was worried about the new director but it feels pretty much like it always has. I was a little bummed though in episode 3 that they let Maya talk. It was a running gag in the first two seasons that she only ever spoke in the final episodes.

^ I wonder if her lines in episode three will constitute the entirety of her dialog for the season.

OMG Satou kun in episode 3! Finallyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!! That scene got me so excited. *______*

I really love the dynamic between Satou and Souma. It's funny when you compare them to Shizuo and Izaya, especially since their seiyuu are the same.

As well as the roles of their characters: the all-knowing informant - Orihara Izaya/Sōma Hiro'omi, the blonde brawl guy (and smoking) - Heiwajima Shizuo/Satō Jun.

This is the third season of this show, and after all these years they just keep repeating the same exact jokes over and over and over again....

And yet I laugh every damn time. How is this show still hilarious?

It boggles the mind.

I quite disagree with the reviewer on this one. Yes this is the same old Working! in the jokes but on the other hand, as soon as episode 1, with the scene where Inami manages to serve men without any punch, I got the feeling that this season would be different. The fact that episode 2 was a bit of a bait with Satou backing out on his proposition made episode 3 progress that much more unexpected and effective!

On the other hand, I'll be quite harsh but this is easily the worse adaptation of Working! I've seen so far. Not on the story level like I said just before, but on the pacing and animation. it felt slow, while one of the forces of Working! was the fact that jokes flew at 100mph, with a great delivery from all seiyuus. There I have the impression that the animation is slow and thus forces the seiyuus to slow down against their character. They don't feel natural. That is also the same with the layout of the episode. In previous seasons, you could feel that the restaurant was alive and jokes were set in quite a logic way.
For example, Takanashi is washing the dishes, he goes to take a rest, encounters on his way Inami who is returning with dishes and get punched (joke 1), which lead to him questioning her progress (joke 2).
On the other hand in the first scene in episode 1, you get the view from Popura who sees Yamada fall then directly Takanashi running from the backstore to scold her (joke 1). She then teleports in split second from the front row of the restaurant to the way to the backstore without any interaction with Yamada while she was walking toward her just before just so she could be on the way to Inami's going to serve men (joke 2)).
Another one that irked me was after Souma talks to Satou of Toroki and gets scolded, he get out of the kitchen to encounter Todoroki coming out of the wall literally (and anyone after watching 2 seasons know the layout of the restaurant and the fact that Todoroki should have been just before in front of the window of the kitchen during the previous joke and thus hearing everything if that was logical).

In brief, I really feel the 4-koma structure in this season is much more visible and that the director either did much less effort to make the restaurant life feel alive and rational in order to chain the jokes one after the other and progress through the source material as fast as possible, or is just less talented.

Another thing that unsettled me and that I only really understood in this third episode was how music was... absent. There are long period of dialogues without music, that made the scenes overbearing for me, especially when the soundtrack is so good and generally set the rhythm of the jokes (like when Takanashi lost it when Kyoko killed a cockroach, to me one of the best woven scene in the series and an example for me of Working! good pacing).

Nevertheless, I'll surely stick to the end, if only because this season seems to be the season of plot progression and nothing beats Satou hugging Todoroki =3. And in the end, all those problem don't prevent some jokes from hitting the mark (Inami-san, I found a housewife in the bushes!).

so i just started watching the show today (Marathoned all 4 episodes out so far)

I laughed so hard and despite no prior experience with the franchise aside from 4 episodes i found myself rooting for the crew to get together and be happy.

I really like the show and can't wait to see more.

Also that heart attack moment has made a great gif.

As funny as always. But man did Takanashi screw it up in ep. 4. Well, at least his relationship with Inami seems to be developing quite nicely.

Also... hang in there Satou!

I am a bit dismayed about how the makers go out of their way to forcefully tear Yachiyo away from Kyouko. I was hoping that Kyouko might eventually start realizing how she really feels for Yachiyo and start showing more signs of affection that just merely eating all those parfaits. The fact that Jun and Yachiyo have exactly zero romantic chemistry doesn't help much either. And then, of course, there's the scene in which Kozue tells Mizuki that she should stop her "unproductive feelings" for Yachiyo and finally fall in love with a man.

Man, why do anime makers hate lesbians so much?

I'm totally with the author. Yamada has been the star of this show since she was first introduced.
