Do you think they will give any of us compensation for waiting so long? (Like a bonus goodie or anything). It's not exactly something we asked for, and my pre-order has been sitting on Amazon for what, 2 years now? I just want the darn thing and would've watched it subbed anyways...

So by the time this gets released it will be about 2 years since the original release date? For what? Better have a ton of extra content because this thing got just an hour of bonus stuff the wait wasn't worth crap.

Amazon Canada cancelled all pre-orders earlier this year. I would love a nice steel book edition or a nice art booklet to make up for their mistakes. I would love a featurette on how this debacle happened in the first place and how it got to this point.

I wonder what all they ended up accomplishing, what with the huge delay and all. Nothing substantial, I reckon Neutral

Yeah I'm not surprised that some places just took it down after all that, with no release in sight. Pretty sure the reasons (beyond the "working closely" thin) will be on NDA lock down.

The most we know is something something "getting the studio's vision across clearly". Still, sounds like it would've been a quick fix. Dubs do take a while to complete, but not THAT long for 2ish hours worth of footage :/ I feel like ultimately, the studio just wanted to take control and tighten their grip. I mean, what POSSIBLY could have Funi did that was SO wrong in the first place? A botched script? Terrible actors? Bad transfer? All the above? I have no idea. Not that there were any complaints on the last 2 movies, which makes it such a weird situation :/

I remember reading back in the summer that it was Funimation that was taking this long. Apparently the supervised subs and "corrected" script was provided a while back and Funi has been taking their sweet time.

No lol, you wish. My amazon Canada pre-order got cancelled a while back, so that's interesting that your pre order is still valid

My theory has been that it literally includes the subtitles/audio/SOMETHING from 4.0

If it is true it is subtitles from Studio Khara? That makes sense then. THey needed to have the movie far in development for that. Wink

So we've got to traverse Third Impact to get to the 3.33 release. Hm.

Completely forgot I ordered this.

I just hope it's a good quality release after all the trouble and not something stupid.

It's also still up on Amazon. A while back I did get an email saying "would you still like this item, even though we don't have a date for it yet?" and I allowed it, otherwise it would've been cancelled. I've kept it all this time to guarantee my $20 price point, since now it's risen (for whatever reason Amazon decided) a little more than that.

This better be the best damn dub I've ever heard with this long of a wait. I can't believe it's been this long.

After all that waiting, here's hoping the English version will be super-good. Something must have gone wrong between Khara and Funimation for this movie of Evangelion to take more than a year to debut.
