I would say that it's a recap movie, but that "Next is..." might say that they're going to adapt Alicization into a movie(s). Hm...

article states it's a complete new work though and that Reki is writing the story for it. Doesn't look like recap or alicization. |

Extra Edition was also an "original work" written by the Author.
The movie itself probably isn't going to relate too much to Alicization, but it'll probably lead into it. |

I hope its set during SAO.
Considering that Alice is longer than the SAO, ALO, and GGO arcs combined, I seriously doubt they would try to fit it into movies. They'd have to rush like crazy just to fit it into a 2-cour anime. |

It was ~eps 10 or 11 if I remember. --------- Money wise, it would be better if they madea movie during its glory days imo. |

Haha...They both are probably doing this new original anime movie cause
One..Alicazation arc has not yet reached its conclusion so they need something in between to keep the fanbase alive. Two: To make more money out of the franchise as it is one of A-1 pictures biggest sellers. Yes it has it's flaws but i still enjoy this show non the less...it was one of the series that got me back into anime after an absence of almost 10 years. Aside from the ALO arc which was terrible...the other story arcs were good especially GGO and MR. now i just wait to see what the plot is about. |

Not hyped, but not saddened. SAO is filled with issues that cripple the show as a whole, but if they can fix everything here then I'm game.
Then again, if it's not a remake but a side story or continuation or whatever, then I think it has less of a chance. |
