Netflix To Announce Its Second Exclusive Anime Series Tomorrow: 'The Seven Deadly Sins'

Netflix has scored its second exclusive anime TV series: “The Seven Deadly Sins,” based on Japanese graphic novels that have sold more than 15 million copies.

The company told Forbes it will announce the Nov. 1 launch of the series at New York Comic Con tomorrow. Phonetically known in Japan as “Nanatsu no Taizai,” the animated show has previously not been made available outside that country.

The anime series launched last year with 24 episodes airing from October to March. Netflix will release all episodes in Japanese with English subtitles on Nov. 1.

Interesting, though it seemed a foregone conclusion considering Netflix in Japan is streaming it.

I wonder if Sentai will pick up the physical distribution rights to it, like they did with Knights of Sidonia?

I almost wish FUNI would, i just want someone to Home realse it so i can buy it.

But my dream cast is already with Funi Voices, Alexis Tipton as Elizabeth, Felicia Angelle as Diane, Tatum as Ban.

I also wonder if Sentai will pick it up. If so, they will have yet another high profile title from 2014.

I assume you are aware that it has probably already been dubbed by someone else.

Oh, those are great news. Between FUNI and Sentai, I would prefer FUNImation to license it. That way i'd be able to buy it at a cheaper price :pp

But I wouldn't be surprised if Aniplex licenses it, though. Its name appears in Taizai credits, so for them it would be easy to do that. If that happened, then I'd be sad.

Well I don't think it's been dubbed at all because I'm pretty sure this is just a subbed release on Netflix.

It would be worth pointing out that it's also listed in Canada. Not sure about other countries.

I can't understand a 1 season delay, but this is kind of ridiculous. So far, I'm not liking Netflix's participation in the anime industry.

Finally, Netflix is streaming this. Hopefully if/when Netflix streams the second season, they don't take as long. I still expect them to delaycast it too. Oh well. Also still have to wait till next month to see the first per the link in the article. Ugh.

and netflix just increased their price

http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/streamingvideoservices/netflix-will-now-cost-new-subscribers--10-a-month

it's only a $1 more though

I like their disc based service better.. at least i don't get the buffering problem..

watching a 4K video will eat up about 8GB of data in 1 hour.. so it sucks if you have a data cap of 250GB

not sure if they will throttle you if you keep getting over the data cap limit every single month from streaming movies Rolling Eyes

Glad to see this is finally being made available legally through Netflix, albeit a year late. Never got around to finishing it when it originally aired so I'll definitely be watching it when it's made available.

Now the question is if they bothered with a dub.

Netflix exclusive that's sub only is destined to be forgotten all too quickly.
