I got mixed feelings about this key visual still...
Hoping to see a PV this month.

quoting the show's tagline, ANN wrote:
"Jōshiki Bye-Bye!" (Bye-Bye, Common Sense!)

Oh, I see. Like the female character's outfit.

That tagline seems to suggest the series will be more of a comedy, which would also match another of the Patlabor traits. I'm quite interested in how this will go.

Why do you guys keep saying Patlabor?

It's not mecha it's more like the Metal Hero (メタルヒーローシリーズ) Tokusatsu series he's red so it's got a Space Sheriff Sharivan look

The fact that it's substituting giant robots for powered suits doesn't really change the core themes.

Tokusatsu and Mecha aren't the same thing. that's like comparing Gatchaman Crowds and Majestic Princess are they the same?

No, but not for the reason you're trying to push. "But it's mecha" is a really shallow analysis of what Patlabor (or any show) is. They might not end up being the same thing at all, in fact it probably won't, but the basic plot summary hits the right notes.
