19 Years without any English translation of the original games(at least we got Part 5 which was nice).

And as soon as I saw the characters on the front page, the theme song popped right back into my head. Enjoy. http://youtu.be/hOIiw2iVmXM

Well, at least Sakura, Oogami, Erica and Gemini will be back in the upcoming Project x Zone 2, which gets a North American release next February.

How about another Sakura Taisen game, that's SRPG and not on a phone or F2P, it would be perfect on the Vita, PS4, or on a PC.

It's disheartening that most of the video game installments of Sakura Wars never reached the U.S., but at least we have the TV show and movie.

Yeah, it's really a shame the series just isn't well known here. Only the most ardent Sakura Wars fans outside of Japan really can hold any true understanding of what made this such a memorable franchise. It especially sucks that Sakura Wars V had a really solid localization on NISA's part (though with some odd name changes like Sagitta Weinberg to Cheiron Archer and Rikaritta becoming Rosarita) as well as glowing reviews, but failed to really garner much attention. Some people actually claimed SW5 wasn't "Japanese enough" since the game took place in New York and is a large reason why it failed to be as memorable as the older titles. I don't know if I can put much backing behind that claim though since, to counter, Sakura Wars 3 took place in Paris and technically "wasn't very Japanese" by that logic either. I think there was also mention about the choice of ladies in SW5 being less interesting than Sakura and the others before them. Of course, it could also be because the original game came out in Japan in 2005 and we got it localized in 2010.

For what it's worth though, as KowKow stated, Ichiro and the ladies will be making a return for Project X Zone 2 in different pair units, so it technically will be another appearance by them for both the U.S. and Europe. Of course, I'm sure many people who played the first game probably had little interest in whoever Ichiro, Sakura, Erica and Gemini were and probably labeled Ciseaux along the lines of "oh great, a rabbit furry thing".

Does "19 years" have some kind of special significance to Sakura Wars, like, maybe if you use one of the alternate readings for Nineteen or One-Nine in Japanese, it translates to something that's a homonym for something related to Sakura Wars?

It just seems odd that they'd not just wait an extra year until the big round number 20th anniversary.
