Was following the news as it broke on Twitter, but there is one new detail mentioned in the article. Crystal's dub will be premiering with the first two episodes (up to Mercury's debut), with one new episode released every week following that.

Looking forward to seeing Crystal's dub, and I'm excited about the rest of S's voice cast. Just too bad a Moonlight Party for those episodes dubbed still seems a while away. Sad

Yeah, more cast announcements, and surprised SM Crystal in English soon.

Also, yeah, I'm seeing a trend, it seems we get Classic SM sets once a year if they're going by their release schedules and their Part 1 and 2 packs. (Within SM-S season coming sometime next year. And possibly unless otherwise noted.)

I mean, yeah, it'll take a while for the series to be completely dubbed, along with the specials/movies, no specifics or guesses how long it'll take, but enough to keep the fans happy, I presume.

Season 1 Part 2 was only released four months after Part 1, but then they started dubbing Crystal alongside it. After that happened, the rate seems to have slowed down to 2 sets a year, or 1 season. (like this year, we got all of R) At this rate the old anime won't be done until 2018 at the earliest, and the specials/movies will probably be coming out afterward.

And we'll just have to see what Crystal's release rate will be like. In any case, looks like we can look forward to the old and new Moon for the next few years!

It didn't really seem like the rate has slowed down that much to me - it seems to be following a release one set every 4-5 months. For example, this year there were three sets released (February, July, and October) and I feel like that's the rate they'll keep it at for the Classic series anyway. So by that logic we would get three sets next year (maybe the R movie and both S sets?) followed by three more in 2017 (S movie and both SuperS sets?) and the final three in 2018 (SuperS movie and all of Stars). Of course, that's assuming the movies will be released with the cycle instead of afterward, so assuming they'll have their own release cycle, we could be getting the last Stars set sometime in Mid-2017.

TBH I don't see Viz trying to stretch out these releases too long. They'll want to do it while Sailor Moon has a higher amount of buzz and who knows what it'll be like in a few years time.

I forgot that season 1 Part 2 came out this year. Think I got mixed up since I tend to watch first via the Hulu premieres, which come out 3-4 months before the physical release usually. I guess 3 sets is about right then, with a 5 month delay between the start of a new season. Charlene did say before that they "were focusing on the series first", which is why I was thinking the movies/specials might come out after the last Stars yet. I believe some of the international releases have done it that way as well.

I don't think they'll try to stretch out the releases, but I'm not too worried about buzz. It'll probably take Crystal 2-3 more years to finish, and then it'll take a bit longer than that to get dubbed. Because of that, there should still be buzz for a while.

Can't wait to watch SMC! Like that its weekly for the dub instead of the time they used for Japan. Voice cast is looking solid as well.

I like Tara Platt's villainess voices. Twisted Evil Was disappointed when Caster was recast, the character has a bigger role in UBW. (though Megan Hollingshead is still good)
