Such a genre is called nunsploitation. Another noted example is Chrono Crusade. Given that this series has scantily clad women, "Areala" is a very appropriate title.

I'm with you one that, lol. I got to say that trailer was way cooler looking than it had any right to be. But still what a weird random thing to bring back.

Ah, it`s bit too cheesy looking for me.

Though, good luck on their goal.

It's called desperation. Hollywood is desperate to find something, anything that is not The Same Old, +same old- sequel-1, +same old sequel-2, +same old etc. At least this isn't an adaptation of a Japanese manga. I thought of Hellsing Ultimate maybe because it had a band of warrior like nuns too. Also I laughed at that trailer because it sort of reminded me of my Catholic school days. Laughing

Mohawk: It may not be an anime/manga adaptation, but it's a convenient way to avoid hiring Asian actors.

The fight choreography looks okay. At least the frames last several seconds, showing a few attacks. Many action scenes nowadays just use fast editing instead of carefully crafted choreography. A good example of an exception would be Fury Road.

I hope they take this further and at least plan out their fights more. I mean they already do, but I just hope they don't rely too much on fancy editing. If this 'trailer' is any indication, it's possible.

Warrior Nun Areala? Ben Dunn? Is this a repost from 1994?

This is not a Hollywood production, sounds more like some independent studios. Especially since this is a kickstarter. It is good that Ben Dunn is supporting it. Loved his version of the comic.

When I heard who was doing this and how, was kind of fatalistic as to how good it probably wasn't going to be. This demo reel has shown a glimmer of hope for the production. Hopefully they will get the money they need from kickstarter to do this properly, and fingers are crossed that they actually do a good job.

What does this have to do with Asian actors. It is based off a comic book.

Looks like a direct-to-video sort of deal. Oh well, my only complaint is that it's not some kind of nun porno.

To me, this looked really well choreographed for a low-budget film. To Hollywood: It is possible to make something interesting and invest so much money on it that it flops.
