What? But that's the endgame. And we've still got too many unadapted comedy arcs for the remaining few episodes before that.

There's five or six comedic mini-arcs left, but there's no way they can fit them all into a month's worth of episodes.

This arc is just the precursor to two more lengthy serious arcs, the second of which is still going. In all likelihood, the manga is ending after the current arc.

I don't read the manga, but I've known for some time this arc is a pretty big deal so looking forward to it. I hope the new anime won't end after the arc is done, but honestly I think it will.

Ah so They rushing to the end so it seems but if it is as long as you saying it is Gintama shouldn't end too soon.

I hope not! This arc leads directly into another arc, which leads directly into the current one. These three arcs are basically one enormous, yet-to-be-concluded story.

True, but starting with this arc, the series enters a perpetual state of continuity and undergoes a massive tonal shift. I was hoping to see all the funny stuff adapted before this took place, but oh well.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good arc; but once they start this arc, there's no going back. There's still a good few arcs that need animated so I thought they were gonna do those before they started this.

Also...the title of this arc is such a spoiler...I'm glad I'm a manga reader so that I wasn't affected.

Just gonna echo what's already been said. Wish they would finish the rest of the unadapted arcs before rushing in to this one. So many good ones.

I feel like we've been trolled so many times that maybe it could be one of those titles ... at least that's what we were all hoping when we read the thing, so maybe the anime only people will think the same?

Also, I know it definitely feels like the end is getting closer, but do they usually announce things like that? Or is it just up to the mangaka?

Wait I'm not really updated with gintama's manga, but someone told me spoiler[kondo gets killed] in one of the recent volumes. So would the deaths start occurring in this arc? And if there are acctual deaths it would be awkward for the series to jump back to its comedic side. When it comes to deaths gintama would probably be the last series where you would take it seriously given the fact that anything could happen in it.
