I didn't realize they still sold them lol. Also, that's one of the my favorite episodes of anime ever.

A high end form of Betamax was still being used in the industry to store episodes and transport them, but I guess that's either switching to digital delivery or just using harddrives.

Whoa, Betamax video cassette tapes were still be produced?
Are you serious?
I can't even find a damn VHS tape to record shows (yeah I know people DVR now). And if you find one it's at least $7 for ONE tape. Walk into any video/radio shop and ask, do you sell VHS tapes and see what they tell you while giving you the, "you're joking right?" look.

Wait, they're still selling Beta tapes? That's a first because even VHS tapes are hard to find these days!

So oddly enough, you could STILL find Betamax tapes somewhere for sale, but not HD-DVD's?

And yes, the episode where we actually displayed some sympathy for Faye is one of the bright spots of the show, as is the knowledge that some geek will still have a playable tape player in the 2Xth century just in case.

It died in the consumer market, having been supplanted by VHS, but it was still big in the professional world, specifically because it had better fidelity than (again) VHS.
