... Well, at least this means it'll actually have animation in it this time. The anime was mostly a series of still images.

This series was a mess in it's original incarnation. I bet it's mostly loaning the general character designs and perhaps a bit of the ...

well sort of story line, perhaps... yes

I did not watch the anime because the visuals looked horrible (although Sentai's updated, naughty art for their release has made me curious), but this 3D trailer looks promising.

The animation looks good, but man this came out of nowhere. I haven't seen the series but I haven't really heard many positive reactions about it. Pretty random for it to suddenly get a cg movie. Someone must really like the franchise(or really want it to succeed).

Not often things go so badly for something you see a reboot after less than a year. What the actual fudge really

Is it also in stereoscopic 3-D?

Would be nice if more CG animated features were in 3-D.

The only anime I think did this were actually 2D animated features like Ghost in the Shell SAC film and some Nintendo shorts released for 3DS.

Actually drawings used in Dai Shogun look nice, but production barely has any animation and camera works are just terrrible . It feels like a jump back to 90's anime scenes with really bad direction.

I would be really curious as to the backstory of how this is even getting a reboot. The story was intriguing I'll admit but the execution of the anime series itself wasn't really that great for me. This should be interesting though to see how the 3D version can do.
