It would be cool if they added gen 2 as well then somehow made it so that you could transfer pokemon to the bank app. I know that won't happen, but it would fix how gen 1 and 2 are cut off from the rest of the franchise.

I remember discussing this with my brother a month ago, and I told him that a Pokemon port to the virtual console was never going to happen. Then this Direct happened, and now I'm hyped about everything.

If I were to get any of them I would probably get Yellow for the updated sprites and changes to the gameplay.

You could just buy the original games, Pokemon Stadium 2, and a transfer pak. |

This is awesome news; the newer generation of Trainers are finally getting their chance to experience the early 8-bit era of Pokémon as well as earlier Trainers getting the chance to relive the past. Here's hoping the Generation 2 versions eventually get ported to the Virtual Console as well.

I WILL buy these! Ever though I still own my originals from back in the day, it'll be awesome to have these new ones.
And besides, my Red's data is so jacked up I couldn't play it if I wanted to. It keeps erasing itself. My Blue might still be OK; I'll have to take a look at it. There's a chance my Yellow is just fine. |

Oh man, i'm SO getting those. It would be so frikin amazing if they did the same with Crystal too, it was my first ever pkmn game, and my all-time fave.
