A Gantz animated film? I haven't seen the live action movie before but eh...not feeling well about this. Been quite awhile since the original TV series aired too.

This could be good, but it will most probably be absolutely terrible. There's nothing to lose though, so I can be hyped for this.

It is sad that now Japanese anime are moving more and more toward CG. I'm not saying CG is bad but the 2D animation is best.

The original manga followed a young Tokyo man named KEI who is reanimated after a deadly subway accident.

Not sure the manga followed Hatsune Miku's character designer. Might have been a later plot point though.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!! MORE GANTZ!!!! KEI F'ING KURONO IS [possibly] BACK!!!

While I'm not against it, I did not want CG, but it was more than not expected.

It sort of seems like more of the dark/seinen stories are getting the CG treatment with their adaptations too, which is interesting. I wonder if that is a financial thing. That's the only good reason I can think of..

Could be awesome depending on the quality.

CG anime in the vein of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children would be awesome!

Heck, even the new Appleseed is pretty cool.

But would they give that kind of time and budget to Gantz?

Getting CG to not look like shit is also stupid expensive. That recent Harlock film cost in excess of $30 million. For that much money, three really decent looking normal anime films could be produced.

I'd rather have an anime reboot. The original had promise but fell extremely short. With today's animation and better pacing/writing it could be awesome.

The article mentions Gantz:G, first I've heard of this. If this is a manga sequel to Gantz then consider me super hyped!!

The ANN publishing software tries to find related info in the glossary and encyclopedia and inserts those links automatically. Sometimes it's appropriate, sometimes not.
