Is this an indicator that they're going to animate the rest of Origin once they finish the prequel material?

If Sunrise remakes Gundam 0079 I hope they do a better job than that short sequence because the visuals in it look like cheap CGI.

Its a commercial, one should give some slack for being "cheap" looking.

I actually prefer hand drawn animation over CGI.

Does anyone realized the recently TV series Gundam like 00, Age,Build Fighters and IBO have hand drawn animation but for OVA like Unicorn and Origin they have CGI mobile suit.. not sure with soon-to-be-release Thunderbolt, hope they wont use CGI too.

I agree G00 & Build fighters both looked excellent. I loved the action in those. Especially all the over the top scenes in BF. But if it's between the 2 styles I enjoyed G00 more so than Unicorn.

Looked cool, but a certain something ruined it.

What amazing observation skills you have. I'm sure those of us who pay attention to that did not notice. Wink

There are plenty of hand drawn elements in Unicorn, even with mobile suits. Origin seems to use CG too much sadly. I can understand a blend, but a problem with CGI comes that they don't give weight to things that move with CG. Everything is too neat and perfect, and the movements become lightning fast for mecha we know aren't exactly that fast. part of it is a growing pain of CG artists, and part is the medium itself.

If they do a remake of 0079 proper, I'd like it to look somewhat like the Journey to Jaburo cutscenes (the traditional animation bits).

Gundam 00's art style is definitely one of the best, and it sort of reminds me of Wing and X.

Unicorn had both hand drawn and CGI for the mobile suits depending on the scenes.

For Thunderbolt, I'm betting that it's gonna be similar to Unicorn.

I understand this commercial. I do wonder if they'll go beyond that. There been talk in the past of Origin's version of original series being made real. But i have serious doubts that reimaging is affordable. Gundam TV was longer series than typical "long" run shows that have just 24 episodes usually.

A lot of Gundam series average 49 to 50 episodes, the original MSG was around 39 I believe. It's entirely possible for them to make a full 50 episode series, though they might split it into two seasons.

Well that 3D was not awkward at all... Wink

Also: I would hope they would animate the actual remake of 0079. But i'd be less surprised if they didn't citing poor home video sales. Because as we all know, 100$ an Episode is totally reasonable! Ok I jest, the Japanese actually get a decent'ish but still overpriced release.

We all know Gundam is popular and even if they don't make tons of profit from the home video sales they will more than plow through that tenfold in Gunpla.
