Possibly. However, I am thinking that they might be keep afloat by doing supporting animation work for other studios. It would be nice if they could do more work with TV shows since that would help give them some work.

We can only hope. This and the announcement of Ni No Kuni 2 are both promising, though.

Seems like Studio Ghibli is just returning an favor of they producing a film for them.

Quote:
Wild Bunch co-produced Studio Ghibli's 2010 anime film The Secret World of Arrietty

Or this Dutch guy wanted to learn from Studio Ghibli animators

Quote:
de Wit temporarily moved to Koganei in Tokyo (where Studio Ghibli is headquartered) to work on the film, completing the film's storyboards and the scenario in his time there, while Studio Ghibli director Isao Takahata checked them

You must know, there is an France Anime/Manga Scene, or was. Because i can remember of good drawn Animation and Mangas in my youth, from france artists. Perhaps the roots lies in Japan. But France is independent, but time has taken also here their price (Wakfu the game as example)

This makes sense, given Takahata's love for French cinema and culture. Unfortunately, Studio Ghibli's actual involvement in this seems relatively minimal. Either way, it sounds like an interesting film for sure. And as a fan of animation in general, I'll be keeping an eye out for it in the future.
