Great anime. Would love to see a new season, though it's unlikely. But hey, with FMP getting more, anything could happen.

Great... OP.

If the rest of the show could come close to the fun and deft animation of the opening credits sequence it would be classic.

It's not a classic.

It's a sporadically okay commercial for a pretty typical "fighting at school" manga. IIRC its one of those anime that ends mid-story.

Man, this was one screwed up anime.

To me it felt like every last one of these characters didn't deserve to be romantically involved with anybody. Almost like they weren't sure if they were even in love with that person.

I was going to say it wasn't a typical school fighter because the martial artist was the sidekick- or the mad fighting mad main character was his sidekick- but they don't do anything plot related so I can't say they qualify as characters.

Wait, was there a plot? There was nobody interesting in the later half flashback and the main cast were just there to set it. How did anyone think that was a good idea? I can't believe it but a filler tournament would have been a better idea.

I remember a lot of style, some good character designs and good music... but you can get all that in the opener. Bomb ya head, end of story.

the manga is anything but typical and so is what the anime covers; you can complain aobut the past arc,but that's kind of cute, because that one was very oppulr in japan even gettingit's own special/tankubon as well as selling millions. but yeah, the anime it self is cut and watered down, what's worse is that the ikkitousen aniem was not censored compared ot it's manga, unlike tenjo tenge and ikkitousen is the one that became popular, so censoring tenjo tenge was a pretty bad idea.

I'd like a remake..

I like the anime but it is tame compared to the more intense adult manga.

Wow, now this is surprise. I was thinking about this anime over the weekend. Surprised to see this getting noticed again.

This was one of the worst anime I'd ever seen back when it had its tv run...I mean, the ending theme was catchy as hell. And more boobs than you can shake a stick at...but the plot was horrible, most of the characters looked bad, it was totally nonsensical... I mean everyone has their own taste, kudos if you enjoyed it!, but this one was a definite miss for me. I never read the manga, maybe it was alot more fun. The anime seemed like it desperately wanted to be more adult but was constrained by ratings.

Yeah…that's good…I guess…but, I would rather have heard something along the lines of "Crunchyroll will be streaming new Tenjho Tenge adaptation". This one was took a really good, distinct manga and whittled it down to a standard high-school fight series, both in look and story (well, the story was along those lines, but the added mythology and intense story arcs helped make it stand out). Usually, Madhouse is exceptional at retaining both the look and feel of a manga from all ascpects, so for them to have turned in something like TT was really puzzling. It felt like the exact wrong thing to do with an adaptation of it.

If anyone ever decides to tackle it again, I hope they adhere as close to it as possible (and given some of today's studios, I think it should be possible for someone to really pull off Oh! Great's style and attention to detail).

I remember that, it was on a music cable channel called Fuse for some odd reason. Along with Petit Cossette & Ergo Proxy. Although I never watched the channel.
