I feel almost bad for Kishimoto, he's implied numerous times that he's kind of fed up with Naruto and wants to take a break from it but they won't let him: First The Last movie, the Boruto mini series, the Boruto movie and now he even has to pen more Boruto and supervise it

He's only supervising the new series, and it's a monthly series. Kishimoto is currently developing a new sci-fi manga with the intent of it being published monthly on Jump Plus, since Jump Plus series have less strict deadlines and he'll be able to draw it at his own pace. |

^But he's also drawing this one-shot for the new series, and even if it's just a supervision, it's still working for the franchise which he's pretty much said he wants to at least get a break from, if not leave behind completely

He's supervising (not even writing or drawing) a monthly series. It's hardly going to be back-breaking labor. Oh woe is Kishimoto, having to read a couple scripts once a month after drawing a ONE SHOT. Truly, he is still SJ's slave. 
Most mangaka in Japan would give their left arms to have his level of success. |

Like I said, it's not about the amount of work (please pay more attention to my posts), it's about still having to do any sort of work related to a series that he's been wanting to get a rest from since he finished it a year ago. He's been more than explicit about not wanting to do any more Naruto stuff for a while (if ever again at all).
It's like eating chicken every day for 10 years and one day you decide "I want to take a break from chicken", but for some reason you still end up having to eat KFC once a week. I don't even like Naruto, but this definitely feels a lot more about Shueisha being greedy than Kishimoto wanting to continue expanding the franchise. He even said in that interview about Boruto that he "definitely couldn't do that [making more Boruto movies] and please give him time to rest". I just imagine it must suck when you want to leave something behind but the powers that be won't let you |

I did read your post. You're literally making it sound like this grown, adult multi-millionaire had his hands tied by this big bad publishing company. No one with an ounce of common sense feels sorry for him. He's a grown man. If he really didn't want to be involved, he could've said no. I have a feeling Kishimoto isn't as pathetic as you seem to think he is. He's probably more than fine with the deal ($$) that's been arranged. |

Well, now he'll have his assistant do it, so that's a big load off his back. Still, I'd like to see him do something else. |

I never said he had his hands tied, but I wouldn't underestimate corporate pressure, that's a huge thing in Japan after all. I'm not saying he can't refuse, but if the editors come to him saying they want him to do this other Boruto project, it's unlikely he'd refuse, even if he's not that into it, because it would be disrespectful or make him look bad or ungrateful. And I mean, does he really need the money? Like you said, he's a multi-millionaire, and if like someone said he's working on a new series already, I'd imagine he'd want to focus on that rather than continue to be tied to more Naruto cashgrabs. I never said he was pathetic, just that, once again, it must suck to be tied down to a project when you want to move on to new things, which he has made pretty much explicit

I am super happy we get more Naruto, and the fact that Kishi is supervising means the story will be fine. Only concern is the new art style, I really hope they clean it up and make it look more like the normal Naruto

Oh, no. I *am* saying good-bye to Naruto. Whether due to corporate demands or Kishimoto's own wishes, I have no desire to continue my journey in the Naruto-verse. It's over, for me anyway. I wish Kishimoto well, but I am done with Naruto. |
