I love the anime. A fantasy world with real world political and economic conflicts. I hope an American publisher picks up this series again; i would love to read the original source material.

I would surprise if you easily find the remaining novels under fan translations. I haven't finished the first US volume. Still, anyone that can anyone/company that can publish a 1000+ book (excluding the Bible and reference books, including dog books), I think it can be worth the investment to help support their industry.

does this really mean what I think it means? that 15 years after the last novel proper we'll finally get an end to the Taiki arc? gods, I hope so... the way the last novel ended I almost tossed my ereader at the wall because of the frustration not knowing if they'd ever tie up those loose ends.

yeah, they are pretty easy to find, and I'd say at least one of the fantranslators that's done some of the translations did a better job than the official version too. but that person is also a professional translator (for example, they translated the Demon City Shinjuku and Yashakiden novels and the Triton of the Sea manga for Digital Manga Publishing) and a published author.

I am so glad she hasn't given up on the Twelve Kingdoms world! It is one of my favorite series ever. Here's hoping we see an English release someday.

You could always buy the out-of-print ones Tokyopop had on Ebay or Amazon.

I've been wanting to know what happened to Taiki. Please finish the Taiki arc. I tried looking for trans but it was a long time ago and I don't remember finding much stuff on it. I haven't looked for updates for a while. Anyways, I've been hoping that more 12 kingdoms anime will come out with a more complete story. It's one of my favorite shows and I still re-watch it time and time again.

For those wanting to see the dub, you will be hearing Dorothy Fahn, best known as Kaoru Kamiya, as Yoko. I really enjoyed her role as Konan in Shippuden.

my thought exactly too! Smile
every now and then I put in google "what happens to Taiki and King of Tai?" in hoe i will find something new... wonder whether she is aware how many people (and for how long!) have been obsessing with the ending of that story-line
i am taking about the anime series, not books
