Huh, fascinating details. I'm tentatively excited for what the creative team will bring, and find the intro to be typical but intriguing.

I still need to catch up on Go Pri! really bad, but I'm still super pumped for February! ♥

I'd rather have a new Ojamajo Doremi series instead of this.

Yeah, but Precure is a yearly anime, not like Ojamajo who runned for 4 years.
I think this is the 11th (12th?) Precure's anime.

Doremi -was- Toei's yearly Mahou Shoujo series, which was replaced by I think Futagohime, but since the 2nd season of that bombed they started with Precure.

With the conslusion of Doremi 17's manga I would've loved to get a series on them grown up like that, but in the end our wishes as the otaku faction of the fandom are really just here for the ride of whatever they feel like producing for the kids. They give us nods, a big seiyuu here, some troll leaks (I will forever remember the fake Cures from Suite), and some character goods, but they sell little outfits and the clearly branded toys more.

We'll keep seeing Precure recycled due to the Brand Name, and likely never a sequel to a Precure show either, unless it is continuous. I'd love to see Umakoshi's designs on another early morning magical girl show though, even if it isn't Doremi or Heartcatch.

Keep going strong, Precure! And I need to catch up on GoPri as well. maybe 5 episodes behind.

Actually "Ashita no Nadja" was Toei's girl series that was inbetween the two franchises. It's well remembered and not a bad show at all really - but the toy sales were really bad apparently.
FutagoHime was done by HAL Film Maker and airing in 2005-2007 (Precure started in 2004.)

But I'm all for Mahou Tsukai Precure, I hope it's a hit with kids. I want more witch-y magical girl series. I really like Futago Kamikita's art for Precure, I wish their Precure manga would at least get translated (Maybe Smile Precure's manga can get licensed since Glitter Force is out?)

Sounds a bit like Doremi.
