Yikes. That was just awful. "We've got automatic rifles. W've got a scorpion tank with deadly machine guns and mortars. But screw all that, let's just flail at everyone with swords and shields 15 seconds later and forget any pretense of guns in the first place."

Seriously, how did not one person involved in making this raise the objection of, "Hey, this trailer doesn't make a lick of sense. Why show them all with guns and act like it would be a Valkyria game and then throw all that out the window as quick as we can? Won't that piss off Valkyria fans a bit?"

Oooh. But there's a psuedo-Selvaria shown at the end. Surely her blue hair and breasts will get the Valkyria fans on board. Well, not me at least. My only hope is that we may someday see VC3 released on Steam (and maybe Vita) eventually when Sega tries to wring out anything they can from this franchise.

Well swords and shields were in previous VC so that part itself isn't too out there (in fact they were incredibly good). But the scorpion tank is clearly way above the tech in the later games despite this taking place earlier.

I'm still not that interested in this though. The gameplay in the first 3 is really what made it stand out. Maybe when we get some gameplay video I might feel differently, but it sounds like they're planning on going with something more generic so...

as long it's not a strategy RPG...

would love to see some gameplay videos

had similar hype with White Knight Chronicles.. but it's back to normal when they released the gameplay video..

CG opening movie is not the same the gameplay...
