How many different versions of this one do you think we'll get? Since there were three versions of SF3 and four of SF4, I'm guessing five. (Of course, this theory discounts the 57 versions of SF2.)

Capcom has already confirmed that there will be only one version of SFV in it's entirety: the base game. Other characters will be free DLC (provided that you're willing to grind for them and pay with in game FIGHT Money) or you can pay real Bison Dollars, which is real money to unlock the DLC characters.

If they remain true to their word, this is definitely a step in the right direction for Capcom.

Think you should cut that 57 down to the actual 7 official releases Capcom published.

that there is the real 64 dollar question. lets not forget that Capcom originally said that SFIV was gonna to have only one version, and we know what happened after that. first same SSFIV , then its arcade edition and finally USFIV. don't be surprised if they do the exact same thing for SFV all in an effort to milk out the game as much as they can. the only thing that concerns me is that will they FINALLY get that unforgiving matchmaking fixed. cause if not, don't be surprised if people get rid of the game in droves and go back to guilty gear xrd sign.

Most people who take them task about this largely disregard the fact that rereleases are only for people who didn't get the games initially or want to be ahead of the curve where the balance is concerned while occasionally throwing in some extras like new characters, stages, stories.

The only Street Fighter game that to my recollection had messed up matchmaking/netcode was the PS4 version of USF4

While upgraded editions are certainly beneficial for people who didn't purchase the original versions of various Capcom fighters, I've never gotten the impression that this crowd is the company's target demo for these titles. The real money is in getting people to purchase multiple versions of the same game. And yes - these upgrades are sometimes substantial enough to warrant a purchase, but this new content should be more affordable. I realize the DLC versions of the various SF4 upgrades were cheaper than their respective retail editions, but as far as downloadable content goes, they were pretty pricey.
