Now the question on everyone's mind is: with Aniplex actively removing their titles from FUNimation's library, will they try putting this film out themselves, or will they allow FUNi to license and dub it, considering its popularity and sizable fanbase?
Here are the four possible scenarios I can think of: 1. Aniplex lets FUNi license the film, dub it, and release it at their normal price point. Everyone's happy (except possibly Aniplex themselves). 2. Aniplex puts the film out themselves, but hires FUNi or Okratron to dub it with the original cast. Dub fans are happy, but everyone else is upset over the price point. 3. Aniplex puts it out themselves and hires Bang Zoom to do the dub, recasting everyone. Tatum fans are angry over the recast, as well as the high price. 4. Aniplex puts it out sub-only. Pretty much EVERYONE is pissed. It'll be interesting to see how this will all pan out, especially considering that FUNimation's rights for the original Black Butler series effectively expire around the same time that this movie is supposed to debut. |

The fact that Funis license expires around the same time is irrelevant. Those are the right for the series, not for the movie.

Oooh... spoiler[so I can see Lizzie's swordfight scene animated], which is probably one of my favorite scenes in the manga? Awesome!
I really do hope that, when this comes out, Funi will be able to get the license to it. |

It's silly to think they won't have FUNi dub it at least. No one would buy it. (still dying over how great the Circus trailer is.) . . . mmm school arc though? That would have to be a series, I think. That would be brilliant. |

So glad that more Black Butler anime is being made. I also have licensing rights in my mind, but right know I just want to be happy that this movie is being made.

That's cool, I have yet to read the manga (I am in Vol.3 Due to lack of... stuff.)
But I think I can reach the Spanish Volume 16 or 17 before that, which I think is very far away of the current arc in English. |
