2nd Persona 3 Blu-ray/DVD Adds 4 Minutes of Footage

posted on by Emma Hanashiro

The official website for Persona 3 films announced on Friday that the Blu-ray Disc and DVD release of the Persona 3 the Movie #2 Midsummer Knight's Dream film will add four minutes of footage not shown in theaters. The release will include the full director's cut of the film, audio commentary, and promotional videos. The Blu-ray Disc release will also include a special video that screened with the film featuring Elizabeth and Margaret.

The limited edition Blu-ray and DVD release will also bundle the original theatrical cut of the film, an original soundtrack CD that includes Lotus Juice's opening theme song "Fate is In Our Hands" and background music tracks, a box with three sides illustrated with new art by Keisuke Watabe, a “Digi Jacket” with original art, a 48-page booklet, 10 “Super P3 Stickers,” (one exclusive to the bundle, and nine from the theater bonuses chosen at random), and three illustration cards featuring key visuals from the second film.

The normal version of the film on Blu-ray and DVD will only contain the audio commentary and special footage, excluding the version of the film only screened in theaters. Select retail chains in Japan will also offer exclusive bundled versions of the release and bonus items.

The film will go on sale in Japan on March 11. The limited-edition Blu-ray Disc and DVD packs will sell for 8,000 yen (about US$70) and 7,000 yen (US$61), respectively. The regular editions of the film will retail for 6,000 yen (US$52) on Blu-ray Disc and 5,000 yen (US$44) on DVD.

The first Persona 3 film, Persona 3 the Movie #1 Spring of Birth, shipped in Japan in May as a similar Blu-ray Disc and DVD release.
