More Amiibo Costumes to be Added to One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X Game

posted on by Rachel Mahoney

The February 2015 issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine is revealing on Saturday that six more Amiibo figurines will unlock costumes for the One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X (One Piece: Chō Grand Battle! X) Nintendo 3DS game through an upcoming patch this winter.

Nami will receive the Wii Fit Trainer costume, Franky the Donkey Kong costume, Brook the Marth Costume, Chopper the Kirby costume, Usopp the Yoshi costume, and Robin will receive the Samus costume. Luffy is also pictured in the Luigi costume.

The "traditional" fighting game promises the largest "dream battle" in any game inspired by Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga thus far. The game features more than 85 characters from the manga and anime's New World setting. The game is the latest One Piece fighting game installment after the Grand Battle! and GIGANT Battle! entries.

The game shipped in Japan on November 13 for 5,690 yen (about US$48). First copies of the game came with a "Grand! Revival" sticker, a "Grand! Revival" reversible package, a download code to receive three songs ("We Are!," "We Go!," and "Wake up!") to listen to within the game, and a serial code to receive Chopper (increased intellect) and Black Tairo Turtle characters for the One Piece: Treasure Cruise smartphone game.

Amiibo figures unlock exclusive game content and features in games such as Super Smash Brothers, Hyrule Warriors and Mario Kart 8.
