Sunrise opened an official website and Twitter account for the previously announced seventh Battle Spirits anime on Sunday, revealing the title Battle Spirits Burning Soul and key art.

The series will premiere in April on TV Tokyo 6 Net and BS Japan. All previous Battle Spirits anime aired on TV Asahi. According to last month's announcement, Sket Dance manga creator Kenta Shinohara is drafting the original character designs for this anime.
The Battle Spirits anime franchise launched with the 50-episode Battle Spirits: Shōnen Toppa Bashin series on September 7, 2008. The anime adapted Bandai's original trading card game, in which cards represent dragons, demons, birds, insects, and other spirits that the players can control in battles. Bandai imported the game to America in 2009.
The Battle Spirits: Shōnen Gekiha Dan follow-up series premiered on September 13, 2009. Battle Spirits: Brave, the third Battle Spirits television anime series, then debuted in Japan in September of 2010. The fourth series, Battle Spirits: Heroes, launched in September 2011, and the fifth series, Battle Spirits: Sword Eyes, followed in September 2012.
The last Battle Spirits television anime, Battle Spirits Saikyō Ginga Ultimate Zero, ended in September. Currently, for the first time since 2008, there is no new Battle Spirits anime airing in Japan.
