English-Subtitled K: Missing Kings BD/DVD Slated for April in Japan
King Records revealed on Wednesday that the limited first edition release of the sci-fi animated film K: Missing Kings will ship on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in Japan on April 22. Both the DVD and Blu-ray Disc will include English subtitles.
The Blu-ray Disc and DVD will both include: a documentary, a video of the "K -in this place again-" event, a "theatre manners" video, a collection of promo videos and TV ads for the movie, the film's original soundtrack, and a "GoRA novella" — which includes a "side story collection," a new short story, and the script for the "Scepter 4" drama CD.
Anime Expo in L.A. and Japan Expo in Paris hosted the world premieres of the K: Missing Kings sequel film in July before it opened in Japan later that month. Eleven Arts also screened the film in Canada starting in late September.
The original television anime series premiered in 2012, and Viz Media streamed it in North America as it aired. An English dub streamed on Viz's Neon Alley service. Viz released the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD. The anime has also inspired multiple manga adaptations and spinoffs.
A second television season will premiere this fall.
