Cross Ange Creative Producer Indicates Sales Were Strong Enough for More

posted on by Sarah Nelkin

Cross Ange creative producer Mitsuo Fukuda revealed during Wednesday's Cross Ange Golden Week fan meeting in Tokyo that the anime has sold enough for a possible second season. He said, "Well, it isn't like the series hasn't sold enough to warrant a second season."

He also mentioned that while he wants to do a continuation, Sunrise told him that the studio was too busy with "a certain anime franchise that has been running for many years." However, Fukuda and planning producer Naotake Furusato urged fans to make their voices heard to both Sunrise and King Records. Fukuda emphasized, however, that he would not announce a second season at a fan meeting, as these kind of announcements would be made in magazines.

The fifth Cross Ange fan meeting was held on Wednesday at Ikebukuro's Cine Libre theater to celebrate the release of the fifth Cross Ange Blu-ray and DVD volume (cover seen above). Presents were also given to fans via a lottery, with prizes including signed scripts for episodes 13, 14, and 15, as well as signed, original sketches of dragon form Vivian (seen left), her father, and Villkiss.

The Sunrise television anime premiered in Japan in October, Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the series in North America.
