2nd Yo-kai Watch Film Opens in Japan on December 19

The July issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Coro Coro Comics magazine is revealing more details on Monday for the second Yo-kai Watch film. The film is titled Eiga Yo-kai Watch: Enma Daioh to Itsutsu no Monogatari da Nyan! (Film Yo-kai Watch: Great King Enma and the 5 Stories, Meow!).
The film will open in Japan on December 19, and tickets will go on sale on July 25. The magazine asks fans to wait for a follow-up report regarding more details about the film's story.
The first film in the franchise, Yo-kai Watch: Tanjō no Himitsu da Nyan! (Yo-kai Watch the Movie: It's the Secret of Birth, Meow!), opened in Japan on December 20. The film sold more than one million advance tickets, which was the highest number of advance tickets sold in the entire 82-year history of the film's distributor TOHO. TOHO said in November 2014 that it aims to make Yo-kai Watch a long-running hit series in the vein of such beloved franchises as Doraemon, Crayon Shin-chan, Detective Conan, and Pokémon.
